Meals on Wheels Service
Providing meals for local people on the St Davids Peninsular.
A Meals on Wheels service was last operated in St. Davids in the late 1980’s when it was run by the Royal Voluntary Service. In December 2020, a small group of people under the umbrella of the St. Davids Befrienders, decided once more to run the service.
They decided to approach the catering staff at Ysgol Penrhyn Dewi. The Headteacher was very receptive to the idea.
Meals on Wheels service was started on Wednesday 21st April 2021 and continues each Wednesday. Volunteers collect the meals from the school and deliver them within the Community. The meals are delivered in thermal containers to keep the meals hot.
The meals are produced from a “healthy living menu” with consideration given for individual dietary needs. The cost of each meal is £4.50. Direct debit is available or pay on the day.

Volunteer NowAll you have to do is contact us and once we establish you are eligible we will make arrangements for your chosen meal to be delivered.
We are currently offering the service every Wednesday but hope to increase this in the near future.
We are very pleased to be working with the Headteacher at the local school Ysgol Penrhyn Dewi. He was delighted to offer the school canteen to be used for preparing the meals.
Volunteers will collect the meals from the school for delivery in heated thermal containers each Wednesday.
The cost of each meal will be £4.50 and payment by card (direct debit) or cash, will be required on the day of delivery.
