St Davids Befrienders
Make a difference and give someone the experience of friendship.
We provide many Befriending Services designed to reduce isolation and loneliness, improve quality of life and keep older people active and independent for as long as possible in the community they helped create.
If you are frustrated at home, because you want to be involved in a craft of some sort but you don’t have the tools, or the know-how, or the friends you might work with, then come to the Dewisland Peoples Shed.
This vital service was started in 2020, nearly 40 years after the original service. Under the umbrella of the St Davids Befrienders, a small group of people got together to once more bring meals on wheels to the city.
Our army of fantastic local volunteers keep all our services going. Without them we could not function as an organisation, we thank each and every one of you!
Do you think you have what it takes to be a volunteer?

Providing meals for local people on the St Davids Peninsular.
Lasting relationships are often formed between our clients and their befrienders, they in fact become true friends!
“I love helping out such a great cause, mental health is so important now-a-days and if I can help make someone's day go a little easier then it makes me happy too. I also find the clients so interesting with their many stories."
“I really look forward to seeing my befriender every week. She is so kind, patient and understanding. I hope my stories of the 'old days' don't bore her too much. Nothing is too much trouble, the befriender service is invaluable!"
